Glowing SHORA jack-o'-lantern carved pumpkin with spider design
Annual Community Event · November 1

Pumpkin Walk

A glowing pathway of jack-o'-lanterns transforms Laughton Heights Park every November 1st — drop off your carved creation and enjoy the magic at dusk.

About the Event

The Sherway Pumpkin Walk is a beloved annual tradition held every November 1st, bringing creativity, community spirit, and a little autumn magic to Laughton Heights Park.

Residents are invited to drop off their carved pumpkin creations, which SHORA volunteers carefully line along the park edge and illuminate at dusk. The result is a glowing pathway of jack-o'-lanterns that transforms the park into a stunning seasonal display enjoyed by families across Sherway.

SHORA works closely with the Region to ensure all pumpkins are responsibly collected and composted at the end of the event, keeping our community clean and environmentally mindful.

This yearly celebration continues to grow, and we're grateful for the imagination and participation that make the Pumpkin Walk such a special night in Sherway.

🎃 How to Participate

Carve your pumpkin and bring it to Laughton Heights Park on November 1st. SHORA volunteers will place it along the park edge and light it at dusk as part of the glowing display. No registration required — just show up with your creation!

What to Expect

As the sun sets on November 1st, the park comes alive with the warm glow of dozens of carved pumpkins lining the pathway. Families stroll through the display, admiring the creativity of their neighbours — from classic jack-o'-lanterns to elaborate artistic carvings.

After the event, SHORA coordinates with the Region to have all pumpkins composted, so nothing goes to waste. It's a celebration that's as community-minded as it is magical.
