Brentano Field - Storm Water Pond Announcement

Sherway neighbours working together as a community made a difference

Fellow neighbours, it is with great pleasure that we share the news that a Brentano Stormwater Pond is dead.
Through our community meeting and support through S.H.O.R.A. we have convinced MTO to relocate the stormwater management pond from the Sherway community to the QEW Dixie Road interchange loop (cloverleaf).
MTO reports that the relocation of the pond is meeting MOECC requirements and does not impact any additional properties or back onto residential homes. They will ensure that its design will include all standard safety and maintenance requirements.
S.H.O.R.A. is committed to keeping our residents informed on all future meetings regarding this storm water pond location change, and the upcoming Detailed Design Phase of the QEW/Dixie Interchange project.  Please send questions to info@sherwayhomeowners.com
Sincerely,

To the Residents of Sherway,

You may have received an email today from Charles Sousa M.P.P. regarding the proposed Brentano Stormwater Pond planned in the QEW/Dixie Interchange improvement project.  I am very pleased to inform you that the proposed Stormwater Pond has been officially relocated in the MTO preliminary design plans to inside the QEW/Dixie interchange.  This moves the pond outside of our neighbourhood borders, and the pond will not back onto any homes.

This is fantastic news and a big win for all of Sherway.

This would not have happened without 4 stakeholders:

  • Charles Sousa M.P.P.
  • Ward 1 Councillor Jim Tovey
  • Jamie Pugh, S.H.O.R.A. VP & Director of Stormwater Management
  • The Community of Sherway

Thank you to everyone that made this change possible.
